Chalambar Golf and Bowls Club is situated two kilometres from Ararat CBD at the foot of One Tree Hill in a peaceful rural setting with an abundance of natural wildlife around the course and magnificent views across the Pyrenees Ranges and Mount Langi Ghiran from the top of the course.
Chally’s Bar and Bistro
Chally’s Bar and Bistro has something for everyone in a relaxed and social atmosphere. Lunch and dinner menus with a wide variety of delicious dishes, daily specials, craft and domestic beers, a range of local wines plus coffee and biscuits. Chally’s offers a fantastic social atmosphere with a dining area for meals, lounge and high-bar areas for a more casual catch up. Chally’s is open Lunch Wednesday – Sunday & Dinner Wednesday – Saturday.
Golf Course
Visitors are always welcome to test their skills on this challenging Par 70 layout. The course has fully watered couch fairways with superb grass greens and presents in excellent condition throughout the year. Very affordable green fees and motorised golf carts are available for hire.
Turf Bowls
The turf bowls green presents in fantastic condition and is available for casual use all year around.

Your function can be fully catered in house by their talented team of Chefs. Food options range from finger food to buffet or an ‘a la carte’ menu. Dietary and food allergy needs are also able to be catered for.
Function Room
The main function room at Chally’s can cater for up to 150 people for a sit down dinner and around 200 for a cocktail type event. The Bistro has full bar facilities with space for a portable dance floor and stage as well as an interactive kids corner to keep the little ones entertained. The room is equipped with an audio system perfect for speeches with wireless microphones and audio options for iPods etc.
Meeting Room
This area is ideal for smaller functions such as meetings of up to 20 people board room style or 40 theatre style.
Member’s Room
The Members Bar adjoins the meeting room and can be used in conjunction for larger meetings. It has its own full bar facilities and is ideal for an engagement party or 21st type event. The members bar opens onto a large deck which overlooks the bowls and golf greens. They can cater for up to 150 people with finger food catering and around 60 seated.
Outdoor Dining on the Deck
The deck has its own BBQ’s for self-catering with BBQ packs available for purchase. Finger food and full meals are also able to be served on the deck. The perfect setting for relaxing under the stars or include a game of barefoot bowls in your function.

The options range from finger food to buffet, set menus and ‘a la Carte’ menu. Sample menus are included in this pack. If you would like to have something different just advise their Functions Manager and they can tailor food to your requirements.
Courtesy Bus
A courtesy bus operates Friday and Saturday nights with pick-ups from all locations within the city limits.
